USING THE CELLARPASS CONNECTION
There's several other areas, but those are done in code directly to and from Shopify. We'll cover the major sections here.

LOOKING UP GUESTS WHEN BOOKING RESERVATIONS
One of the biggest benefits of connecting CellarPass to your Shopify store is the ability to look up customers stored in Shopify within CellarPass, particularly when booking a reservation via the CellarPass admin panel, the CellarPass TablePro or the CellarPass Guest Link apps.

  1. Follow the normal steps to starting a reservation within the admin panel (or TablePro and Guest Link Pro apps).
  2. When entering the guest's information, click the Match button.
  3. Doing so will display a Customer Search function. This will allow you to locate a customer stored in your Shopify database either by Last Name or Email Address.
  4. Once you have entered your search criteria, click the Search button.
  5. The system will then provide a list of matches. Click the checkbox to the left of the guest's name and click Select button. Doing so will retrieve the guest's contact information and complete the following fields (if available): First Name, Last Name, Phone, Email Address and Zip Code. It will also display any applicable Customer Type tags assigned to the customer record.
  6. Complete the reservation per the standard operation procedures.

ADDING NEW GUESTS TO SHOPIFY WHEN BOOKING RESERVATIONS
One of the biggest benefits of connecting CellarPass to your Shopify store is the ability to look up customers stored in Shopify within CellarPass, particularly when booking a reservation via the CellarPass admin panel, CellarPass website, CellarPass booking engine (widget), the CellarPass TablePro or the CellarPass Guest Link apps. When a guest is booked, CellarPass will automatically connect to your Shopify store to check to see if this customer already exists or not. If the email address used to book the reservation is not located in your Shopify store, CellarPass will request Shopify to add the customer record.

This will include the guest's First Name, Last Name, Phone, Email Address and Zip Code.

AUTOMATING DISCOUNTS FOR SHOPIFY CUSTOMERS
CellarPass can be setup to automatically discount your Shopify customers based on Customer Tags assigned to their individual customer record. To learn more about this feature, read this article.

For further assistance with troubleshooting your connection, we recommend the following steps:

1. In the CellarPass admin panel, go to "Business" from the left-hand main menu.

2. Select "Apps & Integrations"

3. Scroll down to the Shopify section. Click the section to expand it if it's not already expanded.

4. Click the "Test Login" button.

5. If this fails, then there are two possible solutions; The app service credentials are not correct or your webservice, which we recommend checking the two values (username and password) and entering them again. Or your webservice account is NOT active with VinSuite. We recommend contacting VinSuite for assistance.
